Social networking systems have already had a profound effect on many peoples’ lives and are starting to make more impact within our organisations and HR functions too.  HR needs to understand how these new technologies and associated new behaviours can be harnessed within a business as well as how more social, community-based approaches can be used to substantially improve all HR processes (from recruitment to retention) as well.

The Speaker:

Jon Ingham is an insight based consultant, focusing on strategic human capital management, HR 2.0 and management 2.0.  He helps organizations gain competitive advantage through the creation of human and social capital supported by effective leadership, HR and management practices, OD interventions, and the use of web 2.0 / social media tools etc.  He writes about these approaches in ‘Strategic HCM: Creating Value through People’ (2006) and the new book he is currently writing titled ‘Social Advantage’.  Jon also chairs the annual HR Technology Europe conference in Amsterdam. Currently working with Strategic Dynamics, Jon was previously with Director of Human Capital Consulting, Europe for Buck Consultants / ACS and Head of HR Consulting for Penna.  Before this he worked as an International HR Director for Ernst & Young, and before that as an IT then change management consultant for Andersen Consulting.  He has a BA in Psychology, a Masters in Engineering and an MBA. He is a Fellow of the CIPD.
