Overview
The HR profession is in a rapid state of evolution and where it develops next is up for grabs. Yet despite progress made in recent years, the HR function often suffers from a residual image problem within organisations and some HR professionals struggle to establish their credibility at senior levels. Dr Linda Holbeche will argue that, as we start to emerge from the lengthy economic crisis, HR leadership is vital if we are to avoid some of the traps of the past and prove our value by equipping organisations for potential renewal and growth.
This session will consider how some highly effective HR leaders and their teams are tackling significant challenges facing their organisations, including the need for culture change. Linda will describe how these valued practitioners have developed the skills, relationships, agendas and actions on which their credibility is based. She will also provide an overview of how she sees the HR profession developing, together with insights into how to develop as an HR leader.
Packed with examples and tips the session will also give participants the chance to share their own insights and experiences as well as self-assess their readiness for making an HR leadership contribution in their contexts.
